Method before meaning.

The visual standard behind ivol.xyz: define the measurement, expose the transformation, label data status, and state what the chart cannot prove.

Purpose

ivol.xyz is an educational visual research library. Its job is to make volatility, volume, option structure, and cross-asset risk easier to inspect without presenting a chart as a personalized recommendation. The site emphasizes definitions, reproducibility, source quality, and the limits of inference.

Data-status standard

Every chart should identify whether values are live, delayed, end-of-day, historical, modeled, or illustrative. The custom images in this static site use synthetic data and carry explicit illustrative labels. They are design explanations, not current market dashboards.

Required chart metadata

  • Instrument, underlying, venue coverage, and market session.
  • Timestamp, time zone, and delay status.
  • Unit, horizon, window, sampling frequency, and annualization.
  • Observed, calculated, interpolated, modeled, or synthetic status.
  • Filters, missing-data treatment, contract-roll rules, and normalization.
  • A plain-language limitation describing what the chart cannot establish.

Editorial sources

Each long-form article contains exactly one editorial outbound link in its body. Sources are selected for direct relevance and authority, including exchange methodology, investor education, official economic data, or research institutions. Internal links connect each article to a topic hub and related guide.

Article standard

Every article contains 1,200–1,600 words of substantive body copy, a unique title and excerpt, one H1, structured H2 sections, a conclusion, category, tags, publication date, custom 1200 × 1200 PNG, metadata, canonical URL, Open Graph preview, BlogPosting schema, breadcrumbs, and related reading.

Visual design and accessibility

Color is paired with text, shapes, line styles, or table context. Keyboard focus is visible, the navigation has a mobile mode, motion respects reduced-motion preferences, images contain dimensions and alt text, and complex dashboards are stacked rather than miniaturized on small screens.

Technical publishing

The site uses static HTML5, compiled Tailwind CSS v4 from the supplied base template, lightweight local JavaScript, clean directory URLs, unique metadata, JSON-LD, sitemap.xml, full-content RSS, robots.txt, and root-relative internal links. No database, account system, form handler, or runtime build is required.
